Gamma Iota Philanthropies

Philanthropy is very important to the Gamma Iota chapter of Delta Delta Delta. Our chapter is involved in many philanthropic activities across campus, but most importantly we have several philanthropies of our own. Nationally, Tri-Deltas raise money for St. Jude Children's' Hospital in Tennessee.

St. Jude is a wonderful organization that provides healthcare services to thousands of sick children every day free of charge. The money that Tri-Deltas have made has gone towards helping St. Jude continue this heart-warming tradition.

Gamma Iota raises money for St. Jude by holding two philanthropic events. The first is Sincerely Yours which is a letter writing campaign that all chapter members participate in. Last year we raised over 20,000 dollars with this philanthropy. The second philanthropy event we host is Frats at Bat. Frats at Bat is a softball tournament in which Purdue fraternities pay an entrance fee to participate in. All of the money raised goes to St. Jude, as well.

This year we hosted our 2nd annual Flapjack Attack, a pancake buffet open to everyone on Purdue's campus.

Finally, not only does Gamma Iota give to St. Jude, but we also help around the Lafayette community. We do this by hosting a Sleigh Bell Days party every winter. This is a Christmas party we throw for a Head Start class from the Lafayette area.

In the coming years, Gamma Iota hopes to expand our philanthropic involvement even more!
